Out of all the ways to listen to music, the MP3 player has to be the king.
many will say that there is no "right way" to listen to music but thats a load of rubbish if you ask me. its like saying there's no "right way" to eat.
OF COURSE THERE'S A RIGHT WAY!
The portability and sheer volume of music that can be stored on an MP3 player is just ludicrius, not to mention the mods that can be applied.
I mean if you compare MP3 players to lets say CDS right. MP3 players (which i will be calling ipods from now on) clear them in almost every catergory. i mean just look at the stats!
CD music storage: 74 - 80 Minutes / 700MB of data. measly
compared too...
Ipod music storage: 30 000 - 40 000 SONGS! thats more like it!
sure, the ipod dosen't get sold anymore and no new ones are being made...
however! this opens up the beautiful world of the second hand market
Now some might say that streaming services are better than either of these, however that is simply not true
While yes, music streaming services DO have more songs (nearly an infinite amount), this volume serves more as a detriment then a positive.
The sheer amount of songs on these platforms has destroyed the culture around listening to music, as now it stoops to the level of background noise, as algorithms choose what you listen to now
The IPod on the other hand... YOU curate what YOU want to listen too! Novel concept amirite?!!
